Eastern Florida State Men and Women’s Tennis Team will Open Spring Season Jan. 24

Schedule includes 16 regular season matches

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team will begin the spring season Jan. 24 on the road against Saint Leo University.

And they will do it with several players ranked in the Oracle ITA Junior College Tennis Rankings.

Four singles players are ranked as freshman Tomi Reche is ranked fifth, Antoine Venancio is 10th sophomore Frederik Oervad is 12th and freshman Mikar Fisher is 33rd in the rankings.

Oervad is back after making the ITA All-American list in both singles and doubles after being named the Freshman of the Year as well as the ITA Regional Rookie Player of the Year in Region 8.

In doubles rankings, the team of Oervad and Arthur Roquet is No. 15 and the duo of Reche and Fisher come into the spring season No. 19. They will be home five times this season.

The team will have 16 matches in the spring with the home opener scheduled for Feb. 19 against Bates College at Titan Tennis Center.

And they will do it with several players ranked in the Oracle ITA Junior College Tennis Rankings.

The women’s team has two sophomores ranked in singles as sophomore Tsveti Trifonova is ranked 17th and Chengeto Moyana is ranked No. 42.

They will play 16 regular season matches with the home opener scheduled for Feb. 6 in a Region match against St. Petersburg at 3 p.m.

The women’s tennis conference championship will begin April 16 in Orlando.
