BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Sunshine State Conference released its Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Poll on Tuesday afternoon and Florida Tech finds itself picked to finish fifth in the league in 2020.

The SSC coaches selected Tampa as the preseason favorite in the league for the seventh consecutive season.

The Spartans corralled 48 points and six first-place votes in the poll. Coming in second is Saint Leo with 40 points.

Lynn, who won the 2019 SSC Championship, is third with 36 points. In fourth-place is Rollins with 34 points and the final two remaining first-place votes.

The Panthers are fifth with 23 points, while Florida Southern (22), Palm Beach Atlantic (13) and Embry-Riddle (8) round out spots five through eight.

Florida Tech will kick off the 2020 season on Saturday, Feb. 1 against Division I Mercer. Opening faceoff is set for 12 p.m. at Five Star Stadium in Macon, Ga.

The 2020 SSC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament takes place on April 23 and 26 at campus sites.
