Florida Tech Swimmer Savannah Brennan Starts 2020 With a Pair of Wins

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – As the new decade begins, some things just never change as junior Savannah Brennan continues to dominate in the pool. The Oviedo native finished the first meet of the year with a pair of wins in the 200-yard IM and 200-yard breaststroke.
Brennan also was the Panther anchor in the 400-yard freestyle relay to earn second place. (3:41.64). The relay was raced by Nicole Rautemberg, Shaelyn Rutta, and Kennedy Nolan.
Nolan recorded the second Panther win of the new year in the 200-yard butterfly. The sophomore registered a time of 2:15.51.
Rutta and Samantha Bischoff had back-to-back finished in the 100-yard freestyle recording a time of 56:27 and 57.37. Later, Rautemberg and Emily Garrigues took second and third in the 500-yard freestyle race.
Overall, the Florida Tech women’s swimming team accumulated 84 points in the first meet of the year while Tampa recorded 117 points to conclude the race.
Next, the Crimson and Gray are back in action Friday, January 17 at the Panther Aquatic Center as they host Saint Leo at 3 p.m. EST.
