Orlando Health Names Eastern Florida State’s Bernard, Schimmel named Student-Athletes of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College basketball players Johnny Bernard and Milan Schimmel were named the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 19.
Bernard helped the men’s basketball team to a 1-1 record this week, averaging 10.5 points and five rebounds this week.
Schimmel had a huge game against Hillsborough Community College, scoring 20 points, grabbing 18 rebounds with seven assists in the win.
The guard from Mission, Oregon followed that up with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists against No. 14 Florida Southwestern.
The men’s basketball team will travel to Florida State College of Jacksonville on Wednesday night before hosting the College of Central Florida Saturday at 4 p.m. in Mid-Florida Conference games.
The women’s basketball team will host Broward College Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Titan Field House.
