UF/Brevard Extension Services to Hosting Classes on Preserving Food Starting in February

Classes will be held at the UF/IFAS Extension Office at 3695 Lake Drive in Cocoa

The UF/Brevard Extension Services will host classes on preserving food starting in February. This class will be held at Cocoa Extension Office from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. This class will cost $35 to attend.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The UF/Brevard Extension Services will host classes on preserving food starting in February.

The topics for the classes will be:

Preserving Foods: Water Bath and Pressure Canning: Learn how to can/jar foods. This hands-on experience will teach the basics of both water bath and pressure canning.

The course involves group preparation and participants will be able to take food home. Please bring a box as jars are warm. This class will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. The event will cost $35 to attend.

Preserving Foods: Jams,Jellies and Pickling: Learn how to can foods. This is a hands-on experience and take food home. Please bring a box or a container of sorts to take your jar home as they will be warm.

This class will be held at Cocoa Extension Office from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. This class will cost $35 to attend.
