Brevard Public Schools’ Bruce Lindsay Named Recipient of 2020 ‘Best of Green Schools Award’

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Bruce Lindsay, Manager of Energy and Resources Conservation at Brevard Public Schools, has been named a recipient of the 2020 Best of Green Schools Award.

Awarded by the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council, in collaboration with the Green Schools National Network, Lindsay is one of only 10 awardees.

The awards recognize people, schools, campuses and organizations making significant strides in school sustainability.

Lindsay earned the Transformation Award for his efforts to reduce the district’s energy footprint.

He led a pilot program to conduct energy audits at three K-12 schools with volunteer professional engineers and mechanical engineering students from the Florida Institute of Technology.

The program provided hands-on experience for mechanical engineering students and led the school district to continue auditing additional schools.
