Eastern Florida State Pitcher Jackson Woodward Named NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College pitcher Jackson Woodward was named the NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

The freshman has struck out 17 hitters in his first 10 2/3 innings of work, allowing just three hits and no runs for the Titans. The Titusville High graduate made his first start last week, pitching four innings of shutout baseball to pick up the win against Seminole State College.

Woodward was also named the Orlando Health Student-Athlete of the Week.

The Titans will travel to Daytona State College on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. game and then be back at Bruce Bochy Field on Friday against Lake Sumter State College.

First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and admission is free.
