Eastern Florida Snaps Four-Game Win Streak, Loses To Florida State College at Jacksonville 63-57

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team had their four-game win streak snapped at Titan Field House Saturday afternoon.

The Titans lost to Florida State College at Jacksonville 63-57 in a Mid-Florida Conference game, falling into second place in the conference with the loss.

Down by one with nine minutes left in the first half the Titans went on a 12-0 run as five different players scored during the run. Eastern Florida State College went into the locker room up nine, 31-22 led by sophomore Osayi Osifo who had 13 of his team-high 17 points in the first half.

Calvin Poulina hit back-to-back 3-pointers to increase the lead to 15 in the first two minutes of the second half, but the Blue Wave would battle back and go on a 10-0 run of their own to cut the lead to one with 12:20 remaining. Eddie Davis hit a big 3-pointer with 9:50 remaining to give FSC-Jacksonville a lead and they would keep it the rest of the way.

The Titans cut the lead to one twice in the final two minutes but couldn’t get the big stop. Poulina finished with 14 points and Nick Alves had 10.

Eastern Florida State College falls to 17-10 overall and 6-3 in the conference. They will travel to the College of Central Florida Wednesday night for a battle of two of the top teams in the conference. Game time is 7:30 p.m.”
