MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech women’s basketball looked to get back to their winning ways and they did just that as they defeated the Nova Southeastern Sharks, 62-59.

November Morton was an all-around star as she held the outright lead in points for the Panthers with 14 and tied for the team-high in both rebounds and assists with six and three respectively.

The first 10 minutes of the game was very even as both teams felt each other out but neither took control. This led to the end of quarter score being, 16-13, in Tech’s favor.

The second was a different story as Gudluag Juliusdottir and Makyla Daniels took control on the offensive end and this helped power the team to a 17-7 advantage. This made it 33-20 as the teams went to the locker room.

The Panthers struggled offensive for most of the second half but they managed to sink the crucial baskets that ultimately gave them the win.

The third looked as if it would be a repeat of the first until the Sharks went on an 11-0 run in the middle of the period and made it a, 47-40, game. The rest of the quarter saw the two teams each sink to baskets and it went into the fourth at 52-44.

The final quarter was the hardest for the Crimson & Gray as Nova took control and cut into the lead. This surge helped bring it to a one-point game with 38 seconds left in the contest. However, the Panthers held strong and with two free late free throws by Fanny Hakanson that wrapped up the 62-59 win.

Florida Tech will look to even both its overall and conference record up in their final game of the season against Rollins. This game will also serve as the team’s senior day and will take place Wednesday, Feb. 26, and the game begins at 5:30 p.m. ET.
