BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Ashley Campbell garnered Sunshine State Conference Softball Player of the week, announced Monday, Feb. 24. This is her first conference player of the week in her career and the team’s first honor of 2020.

Campbell had a breakout weekend as she went 3-9 (.333) and tallied one run and an impressive five RBI. The third basewoman managed at least at one RBI per contest and also, had a double and a walk. This gave her an on-base percentage of .400 and a slugging percentage of .444. Defensively, she stood out too as she had three putouts and seven assists with no errors in the series.

The Floridian’s best outing was Game One of the Saturday, Feb. 22, doubleheader as she went 1-3 (.333) from the plate with one run, two RBI, one double and a walk. She also had one putout and three defensive assists.

Campbell and the rest of the Panthers softball team are back on the field Tuesday, Feb. 25, when they welcome the Flagler Saints to Melbourne. The first pitch of the doubleheader is set to take place at 4 p.m. ET at Nancy Bottge Field.
