Motorcyclist Killed In Orange County Crash Identified as Titusville Man

Florida Highway Patrol has released the identity of a motorcyclist killed in an Orange County crash as 53-year-old Derek Myers from Titusville.

ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol has released the identity of a motorcyclist killed Thursday in an Orange County crash as 53-year-old Derek Myers from Titusville.

Troopers say Myers was killed when a driver of a Ford SUV ran a red light to turn left across Colonial Drive at Avalon Road and crashed into Myers’ motorcycle around 9:20 p.m.

Myers was taken to Waterford Lakes ER where he later died as a result from his injuries

The driver of the SUV is identified as 20-year-old Mary Evans from Orlando. Evans suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

At this time, charges are pending as the investigation continues by Florida Highway Patrol.
