Titusville Man Arrested For Battery, Committing Two Robberies Minutes Apart

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who was wanted for battery and two robberies in the Titusville area.
The suspect has been identified as Angel Medina Rivas from Titusville.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that on Wednesday, February 5 at approximately 3 p.m., the suspect approached two victims walking southbound near the 800 block of South Park Ave. and aggressively grabbed a cooler containing valuables carried by one of the victims.
A few minutes later, the suspect approached another victim at a bus stop near the intersection of South Park Ave. and South St.
“The suspected attempted to steal a black satchel style bag from the victim,” said Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department.
“A struggle ensued resulting in the battery of the the victim by the suspect. A bystander interrupted the crime and the suspect fled on foot.”
Police say the victim suffered minor injuries.
A Titusville Police Officer quickly located the suspect holding the stolen cooler nearby on Brown Avenue and the suspect was identified by witnesses as Angel Medina Rivas.
Rivas has been charged with Strong Armed Robbery, Robbery by Sudden Snatching, Theft and Battery.
