Alexander Mashkevich grew up and studied in Soviet Kyrgyzstan. At the moment, his personal capital is estimated by American Forbes at $2.6 billion.

Mashkevich is the chairman of the board of directors of Eurasian Bank, the leading bank of Kazakhstan in the metallurgical, railway and energy sectors.

It is estimated that about a quarter of the country’s economy is controlled by this particular bank. The Eurasian Bank and Alexander Mashkevich received a huge tranche for preferential lending to businesses and attracting Kazakhstanis to entrepreneurship, including the startups support.

The tranche was received as part of the implementation of the Program for the Development of Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship for 2017-2021.

Alexander Mashkevich is in the top ten leading businessmen of Kazakhstan, and in the business rating he takes the second place. Of course, this implies the presence of houses and cars in a variety of places around the world.

Alexander Mashkevich: Eurasian Resources Group (ERG)

Mashkevich Alexander in the mid-1990s, together with partners and co-owners Patokh Shodiev and Alidjan Ibragimov, founded the Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. company together with partners (ENRC).

The company worked with natural resources in Kazakhstan, and was registered as Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. (ENRC) in London in 2007.

ENRC has transformed into the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG). ERG is a “new generation” mining and smelting company: digitalization of the business, increasing the digital literacy of its employees and a number of high-tech projects – these conceptual innovations are introduced into production by Alexander Mashkevich.

Eurasian Resources Group is working with the international technology park of Astana Hub IT startups on predictive analytics.

Alexander Mashkevich, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ERG, notes that ERG is the organizer and main partner of the Industrial Data Laboratory, where young startups in the field of industrial digital innovations are provided with the access to ERG production data to help in developing new technological solutions that can be applied in activities of the company.

Alexander Mashkevich: the family

The father of Alexander Mashkevich, Anton Mashkevich, is a representative of the Karaite people, who, according to their own Karaite historical tradition, settled in Lithuania in the Middle Ages, professing Judaism.

And his mother, Rachel Yoffe, after moving in with her husband to Kyrgyzstan, enjoyed a well-deserved reputation as an excellent lawyer.

The businessman also has a brother, Ilya Mashkevich, a conductor who enjoys European recognition. After studying at one of the prestigious conservatories, Ilya Mashkevich is rapidly developing his musical career.

In 1991, Mashkevich Alexander immigrated to Israel and received Israeli citizenship, but decided to return to Kazakhstan. Currently, Alexander Mashkevich shares his time between Asian Russia, Belgium and London, where his wife Larisa Vasilyevna Mashkevich lives, as well as two daughters involved in charity.

The Mashkevich family is an example of warm family ties and constant mutual assistance.
