BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Various Brevard County Government Departments, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Health will join forces during a Brevard County Public Safety Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, at the Bill Posey Conference Center in Viera.
Brevard County Board of County Commissioners’ Chair Bryan Lober officially announced the summit Tuesday night during a regularly scheduled Board meeting.
The Summit is free and open to the public. The Bill Posey Conference Center is located at the Florida Department of Health, 2555 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, in Viera.
Participating organizations include the Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Health, Brevard County Public Safety Group, Brevard County Fire Rescue and Ocean Rescue, and Brevard County Mosquito Control.
Lober said the goal of the summit is to increase transparency and inform the public of primary functions within each agency. Common questions such as how, why, and when resources are deployed will be addressed and all agencies will field questions from the public.
