Brevard County Fire Rescue units responded to an incident on a barge in the Indian River on Monday afternoon. Brevard County Fire Rescue officials said crews attended to a worker who sustained injuries on a barge in the Indian River under the Hubert Humphrey Bridge in Merritt Island. BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units responded to an incident on a barge in the Indian River on Monday afternoon.

Brevard County Fire Rescue officials said crews attended to a worker who sustained injuries on a barge in the Indian River under the Hubert Humphrey Bridge in Merritt Island.

The worker sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by workboat to shore and then by ambulance to a local hospital.
