BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA –A Brevard County Circuit Court Judge ordered two concurrent life sentences without the possibility of parole for a man convicted of the 2018 murder of 22-year-old Dimitric Bailey.
Kenneth Levatt Jr., 26, was tried and convicted in court on Monday. Circuit Court Judge Robin Lemonidis immediately sentenced Levatt following the jury’s verdicts.
Two other co-defendants, 27-year-old Markice Harvey, and 24-year-old Xavier Deon Turner, have already been convicted and also sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Patrol officers responded to a report on July 29, 2018, of a man inside a vehicle with what appeared to be a bullet wound to his neck in front of 1707 Vagabond Street.
The investigation revealed a video depicting Bailey driving up to the residence when three individuals, later identified as Levatt, Harvey, and Turner, executed Dimitric Bailey with the intent to rob him.
Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses and determined Turner and Harvey, who were friends with Bailey prior to the robbery attempt they planned with Levatt and resulted in Bailey’s death.
Police determined Harvey as the triggerman.
The victim’s family did not wish to have prosecutors pursue the death penalty in the case.
