HILLBOROUGH COUNTY • SUN CITY, FLORIDA – This morning it was my honor to have been invited to attend the “Keeping Seniors Safe” Summit in Sun City Center, Florida with Keynote Speaker William Barr, our United States Attorney General.

The summit was designed to provide an overview on our national elder fraud and abuse strategy that is in place to help protect our seniors against becoming victims of fraud and elder abuse.

Attorney General Barr spoke about the various programs throughout the country that are in place to target those who target our seniors and also about the various types of fraudulent schemes that target American citizens.

In addition to Attorney General Barr, the summit also included Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who spoke about the level of senior fraud and elder abuse that impacts the state of Florida as well as gave an overview of what Florida is doing to protect our most vulnerable of citizens, our seniors.

I would like to thank Attorney General Barr and Moody for their commitment to protecting our seniors as well as the Department of Justice for hosting today’s very informative summit.
