Eastern Florida Softball Now 3-1 After Giving No. 8 Indian River State First Loss of Season

JENSEN EACH, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College softball team handed Indian River State College its first loss of the season Sunday morning in the Southern Conference Round Robin in Jensen Beach.

The Titans improved to 3-1 in the conference with the 4-1 victory over the No. 8 Pioneers.

Starting pitcher Katelyn Wilfert allowed one run on four hits and struck out six in seven innings to pick up the win.

Freshman Gabriela Garcia got the Titans on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the first and added two more in the second inning on RBI singles from Jaidyn Ahl and Katia Zavala. Madison Neuhaus made it 4-0 in the third inning with a solo home run, her fourth of the season.

The only run for Indian River State College came in the fifth inning.

The Titans will wrap up the Southern Conference Round Robin against Miami Dade.
