BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame member David Kilgore ran 100 miles on Friday morning to raise awareness and funds to benefit health care providers on the front-line fighting COVID-19.
Kilgore, with strong ties to New York City, is the representative for On- Running Footwear in the Big Apple and has received tremendous support from On.
Kilgore, with the Friday Night locker Room’s Steve Wilson covering his exploits all day, began his run at 4 a.m. in south Brevard County. He then went beachside, wound throughout the county, and finished near the wetlands in Viera.
Kilgore’s 100-mile run during the hot spring day took just over 17 hours to complete.
Kilgore had friends join in the run, but because of the virus, they all ran remotely at their own pre-designated sites around the country.
Kilgore enjoyed a lot of local support during the run. Brenden Clarke, Molly Metivier, and his mom Dorothy Fitzgerald were also among those in support all day long.
Those wishing to support David Kilgore’s fundraising efforts can go to his Facebook page and look for the link to the GoFundMe account set up specifically for this event.
