Melbourne Fire Department Recognizes Harbor City Elementary’s Dr. Maria Camargo for Saving Child’s Life

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Fire Chief Chuck Bogle, with Division Chief Phil Leitz and Division Chief Clark Simmons, went to Harbor City Elementary School to recognize school counselor Dr. Maria Camargo for saving a child’s life on March 2.

The fire officials presented Dr. Camargo with a Certificate of Commendation for performing the Heimlich maneuver on a third-grade student who was choking on a piece of food that was lodged in his throat.

The Melbourne Fire Department is committed to the protection of life and property through reliable and innovative Emergency Care, Fire Suppression, Hazard Mitigation, Public Education, Fire Prevention and Code Compliance Services in a customer-oriented manner.
