Melbourne police Investigators suspect the incident stems from a home invasion

Melbourne Police are investigating a deadly shooting Monday night at the Eagles Nest Condominiums that claimed the life of 22-year-old Evan Jackman.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place Monday night at the Eagles Nest Condominiums that claimed the life of 22-year-old Evan Jackman.

According to the investigation, police officers responded to a report of shots fired around 10:19 p.m. After arriving on the scene, police found Jackman dead.

Police say an altercation occurred between a resident at the condominiums and several other individuals.

Investigators believe incident is the result of a home invasion.

According to Melbourne Police Lieutenant Shawn Eising, the investigation has revealed the shooting incident appears to be a targeted incident.
