Meritorious Service Award presented to employees for exceptional body of work

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department’s 2019 Annual Awards Ceremony recently honored civilian employees and officers for not only their heroics throughout the year but also for their compassion and dedication to their community.

“The Meritorious Service Award was presented to employees for an exceptional body of work that significantly contributes to the efficiency of the agency and is a strong representation of personal commitment in support of Palm Bay Police Department’s mission to connect with, serve and impact our community,” said Palm Bay police officials.

Meritorious Service Award Recipients:

• Agent Nicholas Abroe
• Officer Roy LaVanture
• Officer Kevin LaVanture
• Community Service Manager Dana Packard
• VCOP Director Leeda Jordan
• Detective Philip Nungesser
• Crime Analyst Dawn Strickland

The tremendous work of the above employees ranged from re-writing warrant templates used in the circuit; successfully running multiple community service programs; volunteering countless hours and reviving our VCOP program; identifying countless criminals, resulting in numerous arrests; solving violent crimes; and recovering stolen property.
