Rockledge High Placed Into Brief Lockdown After ROTC Student with Drill Rifle Mistaken for ‘Man with a Gun’

Rockledge High School was placed into a brief lockdown Tuesday morning after reports of a ‘man with a gun’ on the school’s campus were reported to Rockledge Police. BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Rockledge High School was placed into a brief lockdown Tuesday morning after reports of a ‘man with a gun’ on the school’s campus were reported to local police.

After quick action by police, patrol officers searched the campus and received information that the person in question was an ROTC student who was carrying a drill rifle.

Police made contact with the student at his home to prevent a similar situation from happening again.

Rockledge High School has resumed regular school activities after the lockdown was lifted.
