It’s only a few days until March Madness 2020 officially starts. As can be recalled, NCAA earlier announced that Selection Sunday is set to happen on March 15, 2020.

This got sports fans all over the world excited for what is to come in the next few days.

A lot of these fans have already started drafting and preparing their line up of teams to fill in their March Madness NCAA bracket predictions. Aside from that, sports fans are also studying possibilities of who will most likely make it to the Sweet 16, which will take place on March 19 and 20, 2020.

As can be recalled from last year’s tournament, the teams in the Sweet 16 were Florida State, Gonzaga, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Michigan, Oregon, Virginia, LSU, Michigan State, Auburn, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke, Houston and Kentucky.

This year, we are looking forward to similar or new names that will be showing up in the Sweet 16 final listing. To anticipate such, we also have listed our version of teams that could very well advance to this season’s NCAA Sweet 16 round, a few of these are as follows:

Oregon

Oregon is the least pick for teams to advance to higher ranks in any season. But that changed last year when Oregon surprisingly reached Sweet 16 last March Madness after winning the Pac-12 tournament.

This year, the Ducks have been under heavy pressure recently. Many are expecting them to pull out another comeback on the Sweet 16. While others thought that they can’t make it to the finals, they are on the move to proving doubters they are wrong.

Villanova

The Wildcats won two of the recent year’s championship games: 2016 and 2018. Their 2016 Championship game is arguably one of the best basketball matches in NCAA history.

In a brief flashback,  Villanova won the 2016 Championship Game with a 77-74 lead against the North Carolina Tar Heels. The game was a pretty close one filled with excitement all throughout.

It ended dramatically when Wildcats’ Kris Jenkins went for a buzzer-beating, championship-winning three-point shot, thus winning the championship for Villanova.

That game was notably one for the books. Consequently, a lot of pressure must be hammered on Villanova to repeat history, despite losing a few of their key members.

Nevada

Online sources are predicting that Nevada could get higher ranks this year than last year’s tournament. Some even went as far as claiming that Nevada could also win the championship.

With the Martin twins, Cody and Caleb, back on the team, this might be possible. The odds could very well run in their favor.

Indiana

Indiana could be a big surprise in this year’s competition as they have backed their team with Romeo Langford. Sports critics believe the Indiana Hoosiers could have favorable odds this March Madness 2020.

Wisconsin

Recently, the Badgers have won seven straight games to secure their spot at the top of the Big Ten standings. They are now lined up to nail a No. 5 seed on Selection Sunday.

With the leadership of Coach Greg Gard, the team is working hard for great defense and a reliable offense led by key players Nate Ruevers and D’Mitrik Trice. The loss and transfer of Kobe King during the season did not seem to matter as the team is surging with adrenaline this season.

West Virginia

If fate allows, the Mountaineers will have their fourth appearance in this stage of the competition for the last five years. With a little more luck, the team could figure their way to landing a spot in the Sweet 16 lineup for this year’s March Madness 2020. They reportedly have their latest transfer Andrew Gordon, who could be a key in making these possibilities happen.

Iowa

The Hawkeyes have their crucial player Luka Garza with stats reported to be showing 23.7 average points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 54% field goal rate.

He will most likely be a threat to any team Iowa might come across. In the past, Iowa may have been inconsistent in the Big Ten. Nevertheless, they have consistently shown that they are a strong offensive team.

Takeaway

Predicting the odds for this year’s NCAA basketball tournament is no easy task. With 68 teams battling it out until the finals, anything could happen. Nevertheless, paying attention to team history and recent progress could just very well help you play your odds better.

Only equip yourself with a well-studied and educated bracket and game predictions, and then you are good to go for the most exceptional sports event of all time.

Perhaps, if you are betting, you might be in luck and find yourself winning after taking a keen lookout for March Madness 2020 news, predictions, and team progress.
