Titans Baseball Team Falls Short To Florida State College of Jacksonville 6-4 at Bruce Bochy Field

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE,  FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost to the Florida State College of Jacksonville in a non-conference game Monday evening at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans gave up four runs in the fifth inning to lose 6-4 and fall to 10-12 on the season.

Down 1-0 in the second inning, the Titans would tie it on AJ Mathis’ sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. Connor Leary would give the Titans the lead in the third with an RBI single.

FSC-Jacksonville would tie the game in the fourth inning, but AJ Mathis would score on a wild pitch to give the Titans a 3-2 lead after four innings.

The Blue Wave would score four times in the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead.

But that would be the final hit FSC-Jacksonville would get as Dominic Baratta came into the game and would retire 13 straight to end the game, striking out seven in five innings, allowing one earned run.

Abraham Arroyo would drive in Pena in the seventh inning to make it 6-4 but the Titans could not get the big hit to tie the game.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to FSC-Jacksonville for a 4 p.m. game before returning the Bruce Bochy Field Wednesday night against Kalamazoo College. Game time is 6 p.m.
