UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed on US-1 Identified 23-Year-Old Man From Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash on US-1 as 23-year-old Eliu Rene Menendez Permuy from Melbourne.
Police say the crash happened around 10:17 a.m. Tuesday morning, when Permuy he crashed his motorcycle into a vehicle that was attempting a left turn onto Silver Palm Ave.
Permuy was rushed to a hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 68-year-old Janis Marie Casoria from Indialantic.
The crash caused significant delay for southbound traffic on US-1.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, according to a police spokesperson.
Police are still investigating the crash.
