What are the Male Sports Women Find Attractive

It’s no surprise that women like athletes because they like to be involved with physically fit men. However, a study published in the medical journal, Evolutionary Psychology, suggests that it goes beyond a chiseled jawline and some ripped abs.

Women don’t just like athletes in general, they seem to find certain sports more attractive than others to be practiced by men.

According to the study, statistics show that women were more concerned about the dedication and motivation that men were more likely to have when they practiced these specific sports, and that spirit usually showed in other aspects of a relationship as well. 

So if you’re wondering what kind of sport would make you more partner-worthy in a woman’s eye, check out this roster.

Golf 

Many recent surveys and studies reveal that the majority of women would prefer a golfer over a more mainstream athlete like a footballer.

According to the female golfers at The Left Rough community, men who practice the sport tend to be more patient and understanding.

That said, male golfers are also more likely to make an impressive income per annum, but that’s possibly because the sport is most frequently practiced by elites. 

It’s also believed that golfers are more educated when it comes to decorum and universal etiquette, which make a man more charming in a woman’s eye.

That said, women are generally less interested in sports, but that’s not because they’re not into fitness. They tend to be more turned off by the mindless enthusiasm that men are inclined to show when watching sports like soccer and American football.

And because golf enthusiasts and athletes alike generally tend to be more composed, this makes the sport more appealing to women. Golf is also an indicator of social status and it’s considered a prestigious activity, which is why it makes the top of the list. 

Surfing 

A shirtless man with a six-pack and a warm tan is quite obviously conventionally attractive, but there’s more to admire about surfers than sun-kissed skin and an impressive physique. Surfing is usually practiced by environmentally-aware men, which women find very attractive.

And because geographically speaking, surfers reside or come from liberal states, another study has also found that they’re more likely to overtly care about women’s rights, which makes women feel more secure. 

However, there are also other, more shallow, factors that come into play. Surfers are more likely to own possessions that some women find attractive, such as an expensive truck or a beach house.

That said, according to online surfing communities, surfers are generally outgoing people who know how to flirt. And when it comes to appearance, surfers have what’s known in the fashion and beauty world as “salt hair,” which makes a man’s mane appear thicker and fluffier, making him look more youthful. 

Motorsports 

Although women are not as likely as their male counterparts to show interest in this activity for leisure, motorsports still makes the list as a sport that women find sexy. It’s no brainer; when a physically fit man risks his life to race, the reckless sense of adventure can be appealing.

As much as women find the dedication and security attractive, they also seek fun and adventurous romantic relationships, and nothing says daredevil more than a man in a motorcycle ring!

That said, men who practice extreme sports are seemingly cautious, thorough, and pay attention to detail, seeing as they would otherwise risk their lives if that didn’t have these qualities. 

Skateboarding 

It might come off as shocking that it’s not just teenage high school girls who find skaters attractive. While other sports may be popular amongst women because they make a man more responsible and charming, women seem to like skaters for completely different reasons.

Skateboarders usually have alternative styles, which include body modification such as tattoos and piercings, and nothing is more popular in today’s dating world than a handsome man with a sleeve tattoo. 

That said, women have also noted that men who skateboard are more likely to be outspoken, outgoing, and have very appealing charisma without appearing to try too hard.

Their laid-back attitudes and subtlety may also make them seem more mysterious than their peers, which is always more attractive.  

Of course, one shouldn’t just practice a sport for the sole reason to appeal to a potential partner, but if you give these activities a try, you might just hit two birds with one stone.
