COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS IN FLORIDA CURRENTLY 354

As of Thursday morning, Brevard County has 106 reported cases of COVID-19, according to the Florida Department of Health.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As of Thursday morning, Brevard County has 106 reported cases of COVID-19, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Among the 100 cases reported in Brevard County are 54 men and 52 women, including a 1-year-old boy and 94-year-old man.

The current Brevard list includes 100 Florida residents and six non-residents. COVID-19 cases requiring hospitalization is 28. Two deaths have been reported as a result of COVID-19 in Brevard County.

FDOH reports 2,020 tests have been administered in Brevard County. According to the Thursday morning report, 1,907 of those tests have come back negative.

According to the Florida Department of Health, the cases in Brevard geographically include 2 in Mims, 3 in Titusville, 6 in Merritt Island, 6 in Cocoa, 3 in Rockledge, 3 in Cocoa Beach, 5 in Satellite Beach, 2 in Indian Harbour Beach, 29 in Melbourne, 1 in West Melbourne, 15 in Palm Bay, and 1 in Malabar.

Of the 152,699 people tested in Florida on Monday, 136,185 people have tested negative for COVID-19. Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Health has reported a total of 16,364 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state with 1,719 hospitalized.

Deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Florida are 354 as of Monday evening.

While Florida’s testing has increased over the past week, the percent of those testing positive for COVID-19 overall is 11 percent. Of the 7,641 tests performed on April 5, there were 930 positive results, or 12 percent.

Eighteen people have died who tested positive for COVID-19 in Broward, Collier, Dade, DeSoto, Lee, Manatee, Orange, Palm Beach, Polk, St. Lucie, Sumter and Volusia counties.

New Florida cases include 666 additional positive COVID-19 cases (649 Florida residents and 17 non-Florida residents) reported to the Florida Department of Health. There are currently 15,883 positive cases in Florida residents and 481 positive cases in non-Florida residents.

In the U.S., 432,579 cases have been reported and 14,831 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19. Global cases reported are 1,506,936 with 90,057 deaths.
