BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I am honored to announce that earlier this week I was asked by Governor Ron DeSantis to participate in the Re-Open Florida process as a Working Group member along with other community and business leaders from across the state of Florida.

Governor DeSantis stated that he wants to get the “Florida economy back in a safe way,” as he appointed members to the Re-Open Florida Task Force Working Groups.

The task force working groups include elected officials, business, education, tourism and other community leaders who are assigned to each of the high, medium and low-risk industries, that will help provide recommendations to the Governor regarding the re-opening of each respective industry.

The working groups include:

• Tourism, Construction, Real Estate, Recreation, Retail and Transportation
• Administrative, Education, Information & Technology, Manufacturing, Utilities and Wholesale
• Agriculture, Finance, Government, Healthcare, Management and Professional Services

As part of the re-opening effort, I was appointed to the Industry Working Group on Agriculture, Finance, Government, Healthcare, Management and Professional Services along with Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma.

It is truly an honor to be asked by our Governor to participate in this very important process as we all work together to re-open Florida in the safest manner possible.

By working together as members of the task force to discuss the safety and health of our citizens as well as the ability to restart our economy we collectively give Governor DeSantis the ability to base his decisions on expertise and best practices.

I am looking forward to being engaged in this process, and to having a voice in keeping our Brevard County citizens safe as we prepare to re-open our great state!
