City Officials Close Viera Wetlands to All Visitors After Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order

Viera Wetlands remains closed to visitors through April 30

As a result of Gov. Ron Desantis’ “Stay at Home” executive order, the Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands (Viera Wetlands) will be closed immediately to all visitors, including foot traffic, vehicles, and bicycles, etc.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As a result of Gov. Ron Desantis’ “Stay at Home” executive order, the Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands (Viera Wetlands) will be closed immediately to all visitors, including foot traffic, vehicles, and bicycles, etc.

The wetlands will remain closed to visitors through April 30 unless extended as part of the governor’s order.

The closing of the Viera Wetlands is a health measure not only for the safety of the public, but also staff and volunteers.

Officials are asking the public to follow Centers for Disease Control and Florida Department of Health recommendations to practice social distancing and avoid crowds larger than 10 or more people.
