Wales becomes 12th EFSC first team All-American

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s golfer Thomas Matthews was named to the NJCAA PING All-American First Team on Monday.

Matthews was named to the all-district team last week after finishing in the top four in all three of his tournaments in the spring season including a second-place finish at the Coastal Alabama Invitational.

The sophomore from Wrexham, Wales becomes the 12th men’s golfer to win first-team All-American honors.

Overall in his sophomore season, Matthews finished in the top five in six events with a win, three second-place finishes and two fourth-place finishes.
