Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle After Trying to Cross US-1 in Micco

Crash happened on US-1 and River Grove Dr.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian Thursday night near US-1 and River Grove Dr. in Micco. 

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian Thursday night near US-1 and River Grove Dr. in Micco. 

According to the preliminary investigation, a driver of a Honda Accord was headed northbound on US-1 approaching River Grove Dr. when a pedestrian attempted to cross US-1 around 8:50 p.m.

State troopers say the pedestrian walked directly into the path of the vehicle and was struck and killed at the scene of the crash.

The identity of the pedestrian will be released when the family has been properly notified.

The driver of the Honda Accord has been identified as 58-year-old David McLellan from Barefoot Bay. McLellan was not injured in the crash.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
