Satellite Beach Man Shot Dead During Domestic Dispute Late Sunday Afternoon

The victim killed in the incident has been identified as 40-year-old James Robertson of Satellite Beach.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that took place during a domestic dispute on Sunday in unincorporated Satellite Beach.

The victim killed in the incident has been identified as 40-year-old James Robertson of Satellite Beach.

Deputies say the investigation began around 5:15 p.m. after they received a call from a person claiming to have shot a family member during a verbal altercation near South Point Court.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Robertson had been shot and immediately worked to provide him emergency medical treatment.

However, Robertson died at the scene.

Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says no charges have been filed at this time.

At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the other person involved in the incident.

The name is being withheld due to the recent constitutional revision of Article 1, Section 16, “Marsy’s Law,” which states:

“The right to prevent the disclosure of information or records that could be used to locate or harass the victim or the victim’s family, or which could disclose confidential or privileged information of the victim.”

The investigation will continue upon completion where it will then be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office for review.
