City of Melbourne Will Re-Open Playgrounds, Park Restrooms and Ballfields Saturday, May 16

All visitors are asked to practice social distancing and not gather in groups of 10 or more
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Saturday, May 16, the City of Melbourne will re-open its playgrounds, park restrooms, and ballfields with some limitations and precautions.
■ All visitors are asked to practice social distancing and not gather in groups of 10 or more.
■ The ballfields will not be open to league play. Only groups of 10 or fewer may use the ballfields.
■ Please be aware that city staff will only be able to clean and sanitize play structures and restrooms twice a day. We encourage visitors to take any personal precautions they feel necessary, such as using hand sanitizer before and after use of the playground equipment.
Other Parks and Recreation Programs and Facilities:
■ The city’s golf courses and tennis courts remain open with modifications.
■ City community centers, the auditorium and pools will remain closed through May 31.
■ Organized events, activities and rentals have been canceled through May 31.
■ Swim lesson registration has been postponed to a later date to be determined.
■ Summer camp and summer camp registration have been postponed to a later date to be determined. Applications for financial aid are still being accepted.
