Florida Tech Clemente Center, Recreational and Strength Training Facilities to Remain Closed

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that gyms will be allowed to open on Monday as part of the phased reopening of the state.
Despite the state of Florida reopening gyms in a few days, Florida Tech’s Clemente Center and all other recreational and strength training facilities on campus will remain closed.
This decision will be updated should the university change its decision on the reopening of these facilities.
The Clemente Center is home to the Florida Tech Panthers, NCAA Division II members and competitors in the Sunshine State Conference, this 58,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility includes a varsity gym, intramural gym, large fitness center, group fitness room, multipurpose room, athletics offices, and a healthy café/eatery.
The fitness area features many options for strength training, cardio machines, and group fitness classes for all skills and levels.
With a seating capacity of 3,500, Clemente Center hosts the University’s commencement ceremonies and many community events.
