Football News: Tobey and Bright are Now Looking for a New College
By Space Coast Daily // May 19, 2020
Two players who have previously committed to the Florida Tech college have now changed their minds. The college shut down its football program and they want to do everything they can to try and protect their players. Unfortunately, those who have strong career prospects stand to lose out.
Travis Tobey who graduated from the Sarasota High college chose to head to Melbourne so that he could enroll at the Florida Institute of Technology.
This helped him to get a head-start on his education and it also helped him to work out with the Panthers team. When Michael Bright chose to take a visit to the Florida Tech college, he met up with Tobey.
Bright ended up committing to football with the Panthers on the day of signing, back in February. It was very comforting to see that someone like Bright knew a player like Tobey at the Tech establishment as it was someone who he could have potentially shared a huddle with.
The issue? Now both players are looking for a new place to study.
A Loss for Football?
Not much is happening in the world of football right now but you can still play football-themed and Amazon slot games at casino.com in Canada.
It’s also possible to watch re-runs of football online too, but for now, the actual game has been suspended. Tobey was not expecting the football program to be suspended.
He said that everyone was well and truly shocked and that it wasn’t a good situation, to say the least. He’s come out with a statement saying that it was tough and that the college has not told him what happened and why. Bright learned the plight of the Tech college from another coach at Albion College.
This is a school in Michigan. Bright was told that they would take him on if he wanted. Bright said that he has already committed and that it was not cool the way that he found out about the news.
Bright is an offensive lineman and he has stated that Florida Tech was in fact, the perfect fit. It wasn’t too far from home and he has a football scholarship lined up.
He also has a lot of academic money too. It was decently cheap to go there, and he was really looking forward to it. Tobey has stated that he has practiced with the team 7 times so far and that they had a very good program. It’s safe to say that the opportunity was very good and that the practices are very organized.
It’s not the end of the world for Tobey and Bright though. They might be scrambling right now to try and redefine their futures but either way, they are now in a position where they can start to make actionable choices.
Tobey has come out to say that he has other schools getting in touch with him but ultimately it depends on where he wants to go and what he wants to do. He does want to play football somewhere, but he doesn’t know where right now.
The world of football might have come to a standstill since the coronavirus wreaked havoc on the sport, but at the end of the day, there are so many people who are trying to make it so that things keep on moving forward as much as possible.
This wouldn’t mean much for college football though as it’s unlikely that the organization would kickstart the sport without clear guidance from the government.
