Gov. Ron DeSantis Urges Floridians to Prepare for Hurricane Season with Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA – Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference on Friday to urge Floridians to take advantage of the Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday from May 29 – June 4 to purchase extra supplies for their hurricane kit.

Recently, Sen. Rick Scott wrote a letter urging families to stay vigilant and get prepared now for the 2020 Hurricane Season, beginning June 1, as our nation continues working to end the spread of the Coronavirus.

Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio requested that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issue guidance addresses the CDC’s Coronavirus guidelines and procedures to keep Floridians safe and healthy in the event of a storm.
