BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne, Melbourne Regional Chamber, Melbourne Main Street, Eau Gallie Arts District and Orlando Melbourne International Airport have joined forces in a collaborative effort to help market Melbourne’s local businesses when they begin to re-open.

The “Melbourne: Back in Business” campaign will consist of various elements including signage and outdoor advertising, digital media marketing, and social media promotions to help revive Melbourne’s economy by encouraging area consumers to spend local.

Tool kits and resources will also be available for businesses and consumers that will include recommended safe practices and up-to-date information.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday the Safe, Smart, Step-By-Step Plan to Reopen Florida.

Phase 1 of the plan will begin on Monday, May 4, and will allow the re-opening of restaurants and retail establishments at 25 percent capacity.

Restaurants may also offer outdoor seating with six feet of space between tables.

Restaurants that do not already have approved outdoor seating should contact the Community Development department HERE for the application and process.

Medical services, including elective procedures, surgical centers, office surgery centers, dental offices, orthodontic offices, endodontic office and other health care practitioners’ offices may fully re-open.

Phase 2 of the plan will begin once DeSantis determines it is suitable to continue re-opening and after fully considering medical data in consultation with state health officials.
