advisory committee received two requests for funding capital projects

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Tourist Development Council advisory Capital Facilities Committee recently reviewed two grant requests and discussed its budget projections, future tourism tax collections, Brevard Zoo’s proposed aquarium project at Port Canaveral and others.

The nine-member advisory committee received two requests for funding capital projects: one from the Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island, which requested $1.573 million for a community outdoor amphitheater; and one from the American Police Hall of Fame in Titusville for $5.5 million.

Both projects did not meet the minimum 75/100 points scoring requirement and therefore did not receive the funding requested.
