Titusville Police Chief John Lau Swears in New Officers Kube, Rosas and Collins

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police Chief John Lau recently swore in the department’s new officers Kube, Rosas and Collins.

Chief Lau began his career with the Titusville Police Department in 1992. After serving several years in Patrol, he was promoted to Detective and assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division.

In 1997, Lau was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and served as a supervisor for more than seven years in both Uniformed Patrol and the Investigations Divisions.

He was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2004 before being named Assistant Chief in 2007. After the retirement of Chief Tony Bollinger in 2012, Lau was named Interim Police Chief and earned the permanent appointment to Chief of Police in 2013.

During his 26 year career in law enforcement, John has been recognized as Titusville Police Department’s Officer of the Year, Supervisor of the Year and Brevard County’s Detective of the Year.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Warner Southern University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.

In 2005, Lau attended and graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy Session #224, law enforcement’s most premier training opportunity. And, in 2012, he graduated from the FBI’s “LEEDS, Session #70, Law Enforcement Executive Development” in Quantico, Virginia.

He is the 12th police chief in the history of the Titusville Police Department.
