Fitness Club Merritt Island is getting creative in other ways too during a difficult time for those in the gym business.

Co-owner Lou Manley announced recently that his gym is offering members and guests online classes that people can use to keep the community healthy and motivated at home until the gym can open back up.

The Florida Department of Agriculture ordered all gyms to be closed until at least May 8.

Since the order was handed down, Fitness Club Merritt Island announced they would be renting out spin bikes for those interested in staying fit and active at home during these unique circumstances.

In addition to spin bikes, Manley says his gym also has exercise balls, bands and resistant bands for sale at the gym.

Anyone interested in renting a spin bike can email the gym at Fitnessclub.mi@outlook.com

Fitness Club Merritt Island, located on 260 East Merritt Island Causeway behind Burger King, has also been reaching out to instructors that are interested in joining the on-line team to provide fitness and wellness classes to members that are looking to keeping fit while the gym is closed.

In the midst of the closure, Manley also announced they have stopped monthly dues from being processed until they reopen.

“We pride ourselves in offering our services to help train, educate and inform the bodies and mindsets of our members,” said Fitness Club Merritt Island in a statement.
