CBD has become so popular that it seems it’s almost everywhere these days. We all have a relative, a friend, or a friend of a friend who uses it and praises its effect whenever they get the chance.

But even with this huge hype around it, people still don’t understand many things about how CBD works, what effects it can have, or who it can help.

For example, did you know that CBD was first discovered in 1940? However, it wasn’t until 50 years later that scientists discovered it can interact with the human endocannabinoid system and started studying its benefits.

The cannabis plant at least 113 different cannabinoids, but we don’t entirely know what they do. So far, the most studied cannabinoids are THC and CBD, but scientists are now studying compounds such as THCA or CBN, which are thought to also have beneficial effects for humans and pets.

But before scientists figure out what these other compounds do, let’s focus on what we already know – CBD oil products and its incredible effects.

To help set the record straight and clear out any misconception, we have picked out a few questions we believe anyone interested in finding more about CBD should know the answer to.

Is CBD going to make me high?

This is probably the most frequently asked question when it comes to CBD, which shows just how many misconceptions people still have about it.

This comes from the fact that CBD is one of the major active compounds found in the cannabis plant and people associate it with the high that marijuana gives you.

In reality, that high comes from THC, which is the psychoactive compound found in the plant. This means CBD products will not get you high and you can’t accidentally intoxicate yourself when using them.

Some CBD products do contain small traces of THC (under 0.3%), which is not enough to get you high. These small traces of THC are necessary to make CBD products more potent. However, if you want to completely eliminate the risks, you can look for THC-free products which contain only CBD.

How long will it take until I feel the effects?

There is not a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as there are many factors you need to take into consideration, such as your metabolism, tolerance, or experience with CBD products. Usually, the fastest your metabolism is working, the quicker you will start feeling the effects.

At the same time, the higher your tolerance to CBD products is, the longer it will take for you to feel its benefits. This is why it is recommended to increase the dosage if you have been taking CBD for a long time.

The way you ingest CBD also plays a big role in how quickly you will feel the effects. CBD products that are inhaled, such as the ones from Organic CBD Nugs, or taken sublingually, will enter the bloodstream faster, whereas edible, capsules, or topicals will take longer to reach your system.

How much CBD should I take?

Again, this depends on many factors. Even though CBD has little to no side effects, you won’t want to waste your CBD by taking large doses, when a smaller one would bring the same desired effects.

The best way to find out your optimal CBD dosage is to simply experiment with it. Start with the dosage recommended by your provider and wait around 40 minutes.

If you don’t seem to feel any relaxing or pain-decreasing effects, take a bit more until you figure out the optimal amount for you. Once you do so, stick with that dosage for a week, before increasing it if necessary.

Usually, you should start with about 5mg of CBD, but some people use as much as 20mg daily.

What happens if I take too much CBD?

As you heard before, one of the biggest benefits of CBD is that it has little to no side effects. This means you can’t overdose from CBD, no matter if you take a larger dose.

To date, there have been no known cases of hospitalization or overdose from using CBD products, but some people have reported some minimal side effects

These effects can include nausea, fatigue, dry mouth, or drowsiness, but they are in no way severe. However, keep in mind that, because it is a supplement, CBD can interact with some medication, such as blood thinners, so you may want to talk to your doctor and see if using CBD will have any undesired effect on your treatment.

CBD is not addictive either, meaning you can stop using it at any time without experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

What is the difference between isolate and full-spectrum CBD?

Typically, you will find two types of CBD products on the market: full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate, and there is one fundamental difference between them: the ingredient list.

CBD isolates are products that contain only CBD, without other cannabinoids added. On the other hand, full-spectrum CBD products contain several other cannabinoids, including THC, to create what is called “the entourage effect”.

Even though CBD is the compound that contains the most therapeutic effects, studies have found that CBD is much more powerful when other cannabinoids are present. This is where the entourage effect came from.

Can I take CBD if I don’t suffer from any disease?

CBD products are known to help with anxiety, depression, mood swings, sleep issues, and pain, but it can be used by anyone, even if they are perfectly healthy. There is no evidence of any health-related issues that can be caused by taking CBD.

Some people use CBD as a nutritional supplement, just as if you were to take some vitamins every once in a while. Others keep CBD around to use with isolated pain episodes, such as menstrual pain, muscle soreness, or headaches, instead of taking painkillers.

But even if they use it sporadically, many people have reported improvements in their overall well-being, despite not suffering from any issue related to depression and anxiety.
