BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – We are very pleased to announce that 57-year-old Gregory Clive Burke, of Mims, has been sentenced to 18 years in Federal Bureau of Prisons by the Honorable Federal Judge Carlos E. Mendoza in Orlando, for enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Burke, a registered sex offender, who was on state probation after a previous conviction for possession of child pornography, was indicted by a federal grand jury on December 20, 2018, and had pleaded guilty on November 21, 2019.

Burke initially came to the attention of Sheriff’s Office when his state probation officer found that he was in possession of a cellular telephone with internet access, which is a violation of the terms of his original probation.

Agent Meghan Cornett of the SORT Unit and a member of the FBI Task Force began investigating the probation violation.

The telephone was seized and turned over to the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Unit where a forensic review revealed that he was posing as a 10-year-old girl, “Emma Dixon,” and had posted a profile on Snapchat and YouTube.

In addition, the forensic review revealed that Burke, fictitiously acting as “Emma Dixon,” was communicating with several 12 to 13-year-old boys and girls online.

“Emma Dixon’s” online profile stated, “Hi. I’m Emma. I’m 10 years old. I love soccer swimming dogs, horses and ponies, and slime.”

One of the children that Burke was communicating with was a 12-year-old boy. During the communications, the child was enticed to send Burke images and videos of himself, including videos of a sexual nature.

This investigation was a cooperative effort by agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office.

Please join me in thanking everyone involved for ensuring this offender can no longer harm children by removing him from our community and placing him right where he belongs, behind bars!
