Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to an ATV crash that claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman from Mims in Volusia County on Thursday night about 10:52 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to an ATV crash that claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman from Mims in Volusia County on Thursday night about 10:52 p.m.

The incident took place on Morgan Alderman Road and State Road 46.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was a passenger on a 2020 Polaris Ranger ATV that was traveling north on Morgan Alderman Road, and for an unknown reason, left the roadway and struck a pole.

The victim was thrown from the ATV and later died at the hospital.

According to Lt. Montes, the driver of the ATV was a 57-year-old man from Marathon, Florida, who was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

This crash remains under investigation.
