Florida Tech Women’s Rowing Team’s Svetlana Ristin Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

Two-time SSC Champion women’s rower receives CoSIDA Academic All-America honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Svetlana Ristin of the Florida Tech women’s rowing team has been named to the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This is the first CoSIDA Academic All-America award for Ristin, who is a three-year member of the rowing team. The Zrenjanin, Serbia native boasts a 3.778 cumulative grade point average and is currently working on her master’s degree in biotechnology.

Ristin graduated from Florida Tech in 2019 with her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry.

Ristin was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society during her career as well as honored as the Outstanding Senior of the Year for the Biological Sciences Department.

She is a two-time CRCA/Pocock All-America and a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete. Additionally, Ristin was named Women’s Rowing’s Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2018-19.

Ristin helped guide the women’s rowing team to consecutive Sunshine State Conference Championships in 2018 and 2019.

The Panthers made the NCAA Championships in each of those seasons with Tech finishing third in 2018 and national runner-up in 2019.
