President Trump Shoots Down Speculation About Renaming Army Bases Named After Confederate Leaders

WASHINGTON D.C. – President Trump fired back at critics who were calling for the renaming of several Army bases named after Confederate leaders across the United States.
Speculation began when an Army spokesperson mentioned top Pentagon officials were open to the discussions.
In a series of tweets, President Trump mentioned the 10 Army posts that have the names of Confederate generals and said they “have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom.”
“My Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations,” the president said.
“Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with.”
