Upon parking, just outside the main entry doors, we entered the lobby and were greeted by three hosts, who were wearing protective masks, and after a short wait, we were taken to a nice table overlooking the port’s wide channel.

Our friendly masked waitress, named Kailee, brought us menus, coffee and mimosas quickly. The mimosas were complimentary with brunch and were a very pleasant experience.

Not having the condiments on the table due to COVID-19 added trips for the servers and we didn’t get ketchup for our potatoes until we had half-eaten, but that’s the world we live in, isn’t it?

Fishlips has taken advantage of the mandatory close-down and has redecorated the restaurant.

It’s a very pleasant experience with new, cushiony carpet, nice green paint which compliments the beautiful wooden bar and decor.

New golden-lined overhead lights, cool-looking fans and comfortable chairs and tables all make the Fishlips dining room experience first-class for a casual waterfront grill.

My Crab Cakes Benedict was really delicious and I will be back for those at some point, although I might try the Eggs Sardou next time.

The brunch menu is excellent and offers a lot of interesting variety as well as the standards.

Alison went for a standard breakfast of eggs over easy, served with three fried potatoes and three bacon strips, which were all perfect. The two biscuits were a bit dry.

The staff was plentiful, professional and very attentive. It’s a shame the servers have to wear masks but in these times it’s the right thing to do.

The constant parade of all kinds of water-going vessels going by the large windows makes your brunch fun, interesting and a great conversation starter.

Our guest check was $29.41 including tax and was good value for all we received.

We highly recommend Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill for your Sunday Brunch.
