State of Florida Suspends On Premises Alcohol Consumption at Bars Statewide Effective Immediately

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Halsey Beshears, Florida secretary of the state Department of Business and Professional Regulation, announced in a tweet on Friday morning that the state is suspending the consumption of alcohol at bars due an increase of coronavirus cases.
The new ban takes effect immediately as the Department of Business and Professional Regulation will suspend on-premises consumption of alcohol at bars statewide.
The announcement came after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis threatened to revoke liquor licenses from establishments that didn’t follow the state’s reopening guidelines.
