BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo veterinarians sat by juvenile green sea turtle Trixie’s side for nearly two days straight to help them recover from surgery.

This sea turtle came to Brevard Zoo from Sebastian Inlet presenting FP and general lethargy.

This turtle has a small amount of FP in the inguinal area and on the sclera of the right eye. Otherwise, Trixie has good body condition and began eating proteins and algae right away.

Support this life-saving work by joining the Sea Turtle Community Challenge.

Since 2014, our Sea Turtle Healing Center has provided life-saving treatment to thousands of sick and injured sea turtles.

But with the ongoing pandemic taking a costly toll on the Zoo’s finances, we need your support now more than ever to continue to get these beloved creatures back on their flippers and out in the ocean.

Brevard Zoo partners at the Sea Turtle Preservation Society have generously offered to match up to $10,000 in donations made to the Healing Center until Saturday, June 20.
