Brevard Sheriff’s Agents Conducting Death Investigation Connected to Suspected Drug-Related Robbery

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred in the area of San Sebastian Way in Rockledge after a citizen reported finding a man deceased inside a vehicle. “The preliminary investigation has determined that the incident was not random and the decedent was the specific target of an alleged drug-related robbery,” said Brevard County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tod Goodyear.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred in the area of San Sebastian Way in Rockledge after a citizen reported finding a man deceased inside a vehicle.

According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tod Goodyear, the investigation began Saturday, July 4 at approximately 7 p.m. after the Sheriff’s Office was informed of the discovery.

“The preliminary investigation has determined that the incident was not random and the decedent was the specific target of an alleged drug-related robbery,” said Goodyear.

“Agents and crime scene investigators are continuing the investigation to determine the circumstances related to this incident.”

The Sheriff’s Office had not yet released the name of the victim to allow the family the opportunity to make notifications. The victim was transported to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted.
